Sue Ellen Frost of Ida, MI, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 in her home under the care of hospice. She was born September 5, 1940 in Monroe Michigan to Clifford and Phyllis (Thorn) Miller. Although an only child, she grew up surrounded by a large, close-knit extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and for many years was the Miller Family historian combining her love for genealogy and her love for family.
Sue’s passions early in life were dancing and music, especially to the golden oldies, where she was almost certain to be found at T-Bone’s or later, Club Kato’s, doing the jitterbug and spending time with friends. She loved people and their stories, and later in life, enjoyed eating out and spending time getting to know everyone at her favorite diners. Sue will be remembered for her ability to turn a stranger into a lifelong friend, her sense of humor, spontaneity, and tremendous love for her family.
Sue leaves behind her daughters, Heidi Frost, Andrea Frost Murnen (Kevin), and Kaelyn Stultz (Zach); her grandchildren, Mia, Blake, Eliana, Eva, Maria, Nadia, Miranda, and Zaylee; close friend and adopted daughter Debra Shinkle (Ben); and many friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted in 1992, followed by the recent passing of her lifelong companion James Merritt; and her parents.
Family and friends may visit the Castillo Funeral Home, 1757 Tremainsville Ave in Toledo on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. where the funeral service and celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Bedford Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program (1653 Samaria Rd, Temperance MI 48182) or to the family to assist with burial expenses.
