Kathleen "Kitty" Callaghan Obituary

Kathleen “Kitty” (Kelly) Callaghan passed away in her home surrounded by her children on December 25, 2020 at the age of 85.

Kitty was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed volunteering in the community.  She thanked God every day for her bountiful blessing of family and friends.  Kitty had a 30 year career in real estate and she was proud to help others find their family home.

Mom had a gift of making everyone feel like part of our family.  If you ever met Mom you would have received a smile, a touch of her hand, or a hug, and a piece of her kind, loving soul would have been left with you forever. It gives us peace picturing Moms smile on Christmas night, meeting her Heavenly Father, and being reunited with Dad, the love of her life.

Kitty was preceded in death by her husband James P. Callaghan, parents Virginia and William Kelly, sister Sandra Minarik, brothers Louis Kelly and David Kelly, sister-in-law Hiroko Kelly and brother-in-law John (Skip) Jett.

Kitty is survived by the loving children, James Callaghan Jr., John (Christine) Callaghan, Christopher Callaghan, Patti (Jeff) Sochacki, Lori (Mark) Skowronek, Mary Jo (Mike) Jerzykowski, Pam (Ron) Renninger, 17 grandchildren and 17 great –grandchildren.  Sister Pat Jett, brothers William (Sonny), Michael (Barb), Daniel (Al) Kelly, brother-in-law Walt Minarik, sister-in-law Sharon Kelly, and many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their friendship and love. We would also to thank Promedica Hospice for their care.  As Mom would say: “YOU ARE LOVED!”
