John Joseph LeVally “J. J.” passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 6th, 2022 in St. Anne Mercy Hospital at the age of 73. John was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 1st, 1949 to Joseph and Gwendolyn (Carl) LeVally and graduated from Start High School in 1967.
After graduating, he joined the U.S. Navy and was an Aviation Electronics Technician on the USS Kitty-Hawk Aircraft Carrier. After being Honorably Discharged from the Navy, he ventured to California for a few years.
John came back to Toledo and returned to work for Automation Engineering, where he met the love of his life Debra Michalak, who he married.
John went to work for Champion Spark Plug and eventually Ford Motor Co. where he was a machinist technician until his retirement in 2006.
After retiring, John bought himself a 2006 Ford Mustang. Which he took to numerous car shows with his long time friend, John Skeeter Oliver.
He also enjoyed fishing and took many fishing trips with his buddy, Stuart Campbell, on Stu’s boat.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn (James) Hildreth, his father, Joseph LeVally, and his brother, Charles LeVally.
John is survived by his loving wife, Debra LeVally, his children, Jennifer (Brian) Sapp, Faye (Ross) Ehmann-Mcluckie, Lee (Alyson) Ehmann; grandchildren Johnathon, Brandon, Austin, Katelyn (Justin), Lillian, Vera, and Zacc; one great grandchild, James; and sister, Charlene (Ron) LeVally.
John’s family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home, 1757 Tremainsville Road, Toledo Ohio on Friday, Oct. 14th, 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held Saturday Oct. 15th at 11:00 a.m.
