H. Arlene Dykeman died peacefully surrounded by family on November 25th, 2022 at Highbanks Care Center in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on February 14, 1940 to Henry and Hazel Blankenship.
Arlene worked many years in the photography industry, a short time at Kohl's Dept. Store. After retiring, she enjoyed being a homemaker. While in Columbus, Arlene was very active with Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved making her famous chocolates and cookies for the holidays. Arlene was a loving grandmother to her many grandchildren and loved spending time with all of them and was a fierce defender of her family. She also loved rooting for the Buckeyes and tailgating with her family.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Hazel Blankenship; husbands Larry Tucker, Sr., Frank Van Hoesen and John Dykeman; siblings Minnie Esterline, Delbert Blankenship, Raymond Blankenship and Ronald Blankenship.
She is survived by her children, Vicki Schmidt (Charles), Larry Tucker, Jr. (Connie) and Terry Tucker (Elizabeth). Also surviving grandchildren, Andrea Faurot (Robert), Ashley Konieczny (Eric), Chelse Tucker, Amy Kubicki (Adam), Benjamin Tucker (Kristi), Kristina Tucker and Troy Tucker (Amber); and great grandchildren Alexis, Brooklynn, Stella, Noah, Graci, Brynnlee, Averie, Logan, Aurora, Levi, Everly and Jack.
Although we will all miss her dearly, she is now at peace after suffering the last five years with Alzheimer’s disease.
Memorial tributes can be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arlene's family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home, 1757 Tremainsville Rd., Wednesday, November 30th, from 4 to 7 p.m., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 AM.
