Eugene Niles Hankins

Eugene Nile Hankins, born October 10, 1952, died June 6, 2021. Born in Toledo Ohio to the late Ossie Meador and Lowell E. Hankins.  He was a member of South Toledo Baptist Church.  Retired from Advanced Engineering in 2008.  He missed working so he took part time at Toledo Supply Services, finally retiring in 2018.  Gene was a huge train enthusiast, loved collecting and dislaying his trains especially at Christmas.  His other love of collects was eagles, dragons, wolves & Star Wars, but what Gene loved the most was family.  Loved his big family gatherings and wanted to be a big part of everyone’s lives. He is survived by wife; Gloria Hankins, daughter; Rachel (Brian) Sutton, son; Joseph Hankins, stepkids; Diana, Robbie, Debbie, sister; Sharon Hankins, brother; Gary (Lari) Hankins, step brother; John (Shelley) Meador, 15 nieces and nephews, 24 grandkids, 10 great grandkids.  Preceded in death by his parents Ossie Meador, Lowell E. Hankins, stepdad; Marvin S. Meador, stepdaughter; Denise Koester, father-in-law; James Huston, along with many grandparents, uncles and aunts.  Gene was well loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremaninsville Rd. Tuesday after 1 PM followed a Celebration of Life Service at 3PM. We will be having a celebration of life following the ceremony at 1931 Glencove. We ask if you could please bring a dish to pass.
