Kathryn Louise (Meyers) Iwinski

Kathryn Louise (Meyers) Iwinski, age 89, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Franciscan Care Center, Sylvania.

She was born on April 5, 1929 in Toledo to Vincent and Edna (Dunzer) Meyers.

Kathryn graduated from Gesu School in 1943 and graduated in 1947 from Notre Dame Academy.

She later attended Davis College and worked for Toledo Edison before starting a family.

Once returning to work after her children were grown, Kathryn worked at several retail chains where she took immense pride in every position she held.

Kathryn loved growing vegetables in her garden, doing numerous crafts, playing Bunco, was extraordinarily lucky at winning Bingo and received the most enjoyment from baking her cut out cookies and apple crisp for her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert; sisters Jane Puhl and Rita Lavey and daughter Judy Nusbaum-Rowe, whom she is overjoyed to be reunited with once again.

Kathryn will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jackie (Jamie) Ash, Diane (Rob) Stith, Don Delano and Marianne Tylicki, sisters, Angela Nonnenmacher, Joyce Schoonmaker, Pat (Jack) Miller and brother Joe (Sue) Meyers.

She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Becca (Kat) Donovan, Emily (Stephan) Dusa, Kevin Stith, Robert Stith, Cooper Delano, Andrew Tylicki, Stephanie Tylicki, Craig Tylicki and Samantha Tylicki.

Her smile was the brightest when she spent time with her great grandsons, Leo Donovan and Colt Tylicki.

A celebration of Kathryn’s life will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019. from 3pm-7pm at Castillo’s Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. and Wednesday in the Narthex at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, 2240 Castlewood Dr. after 10 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 11 AM.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Franciscan Care Center for their kindness and care while Kathryn was a resident and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice, especially Kyli Jenkins, for her respect and compassion.
