Recently I lost my brother to cancer. Unfortunately he was not prepared, having no life insurance. John Castillo, went above & beyond to make one of the worst days ever, a beautiful, comforting memorial service. Our family and friends were so very pleased. Recently we lost our Grandmother, Hilma Shaltz. Because we were unprepared when the need arose, we contacted several funeral directors in Bowling Green to first look for guidance during this tough time and then for someone we felt comfortable with to handle the arrangements. She passed in the middle of the night, so it was relatively early in the morning when we began our search for help. After a couple of calls to funeral directors and getting answering services, we called Castillo Funeral Home in Toledo. Mr Castillo answered the phone himself. After a few questions, we were sure found the help and guidance we needed. John Castillo himself answered every time we called and he helped us navigate the county and nursing home regulations.

My family went threw a very horrible passing. Our daugther passed away and was born stillbirth. John was so very nice. He took care of everything and was very understand to our family and lose. He cremated my daugther for us. He help me family out of pure kindness. I am forever grateful for this man. Def the place to go. God bless John. Like he blessed us.

Unfortunately I met John during the arrangements of my father, Leon Williams, homegoing celebration. John was a GOD sent and helped us every step of the way. He told my family and I to contact him whenever we needed him . He wasn’t just saying that either he provided me with his cell phone number as well. Even though I had to meet John in the matter in which his career is under, I couldn’t have chosen a more suitable funeral home to help celebrate my father’s life. We were even able to have the repast in his funeral home because he has a separate location downstairs just for that purpose, which isn’t usually the case. I’m eternally grateful for John and I would recommend his company to anyone who’s loved one has went on to HEAVEN! Thank you so much John, your appreciated more than you know.

John is truly a awesome person I really appreciate how down to earth he is , When a family member passes away some times it is hard to believe or even think about a funeral ,I talked to John after my mom passed, He personally came to mom's house from there on i felt at peace, He made this so easy on us, He recommended a great flower shop that is less than 5 minutes away, A wonderful Lady took care of us and let me say that price was great, There was a wonderful video put together for us John put all of this together for us, He made this so easy for us All the costs were put together, I wrote one check out for everything even the flowers l could not ask for more John prices are Great, l would recommend Castillo Funeral home to Every one! !!! 5 Stars

We had an unexpected death, and making arrangements are very difficult when you are also dealing with emotional stress. Castillo Funeral Home made everything easy, handled all the details, and took the extra stress of the plans off of us. We were very satisfied, and although it was the best price in Toledo, it did not lack the personal attention and service. I would highly recommend their location to anyone looking to pre-plan, or to help you with the unexpected.

I never thought I would have to bury one of my children. That's not how it works. Burying one of your children is the most painful thing a person can go through. The old cliché "you don't know how it feels until it happens to you" has never been so true. As I walked into Mr. Castillo's funeral home shaking and sick, he settled me down and made me comfortable enough to begin the planning of my young daughter's memorial service. He has a manner about him that is calming and you feel that he truly does care. I felt much better when I left knowing that Mr. Castillo would be taking care of everything. That I had one less thing to think about during the most horrific time in my life. The prices and the services are unmatched in the Toledo area. Thank you John for helping me get through this very painful time in my life.

Never thought I would have to plan a funeral so early in life I didn't know where to start. John was so helpful walked us through every step of the process.without emptying our pockets. He made us feel like we have been long time friends. The funeral would of been everything my mother in law would have wanted.
